I was told to ask this....
A man told his wife that he divorced her 3 times at the same time...is this counted as one or 3?

@ razya i dont know if you follow the hanafi mazhab, but if you do then yes it is considered as 3 talaaqs and the couple cannot be together again unless the woman marries another man. And this is also the law of the other 3 imams. And to support this we have strong proof from the hadith of the prophet (saw).
But the salafis (ghair muqallideen) says that even though a person gives 3 talaaqs at 1 time it will be considered as just 1, and this is very wrong. Wallahu Aalam.

There are many daleels regarding to this, some of them are.
1) check the commentry of ayah number 229 of surah baqarah, regarding 3 talaaqs at once.
2) hadith of bukhari and muslim in (kataab al li3aan) its a long hadith, part of it is, a person lied on his wife to the prophet and said that she cheated with another man, then he said that if he kept her (ููู ุทุงูู ุซูุงุซุงโ)โ
he would give her 3 talaaqs at once, the prophet didnt say that (its not permissible) infact he agreed by taqreer,
3) hadith of bukari and muslim, hazrat Aisha said that the wife of rifa3ah came to the prophet and said that rifa3ah gave her talaaq (fa batta talaaqi) that is 3 talaaqs 1 time, then she was married to abdur rahman and she wanted to go back to her 1st husband. . . . .Mukhtasar.
